    Rainsoft failure and illness
I had a Rainsoft system installed 13 months ago. After 12 1/2 months, during an annual maintenance, I was informed the systems water flow meter was not working. I have no idea how long it had been since the systems had performed a regeneration. It could have been any time during the previous year. What are the consequences of not running a regeneration for an extended period. Can bacteria and other contaminant build up?

Since having this system, none of the promises have been realized. I have dry hair, and skin, funny tasting water and am experiencing constantly soft stools, frequent indigestion and diagnosed with a kidney infection. I am concerned this system failure has contributed to the my current health issues

What was your water like before the Rainsoft install? Did you have these issues before? I have a hard time thinking the system , even not recharged , is a part of your health issues. BTW, they typically oversell the product.
Unless you are in a very hard water area or on a questionable well, I do not believe you gain much from softener systems.
