Severe muscle tightness, pain and foot cramps.
For years I could be on a cement floor for any length of time with or without shoes and I would get food cramps. My toes would separate and I couldn't walk. Within the last 5 years this has gotten much worst. I know can't be on cement flooring, in air conditioning where my legs get any cold breeze or be sitting for long lengths of time, i.e. long plane flights. When I do that night or later I will have the foot cramps and the ankle will turn inwards in a muscle spasm, this continues up the calf of the leg. Spasm and tightness on both sides, front and back of calves. Feet become so heavy that I can lift them I can only stand not sit or more. I use natural muscle relaxers, quinine tablets under the tongue and hot packs. When it gets this way I feel like I want to cut the tendons in the front on my foot. I have to stand sometimes three hours before I can lie down on my bed. Then my foot will start again if I am not careful how I have my foot on the bed. My doctor has no idea why this is happening. My blood test show the correct amount of potassium. My daughter and niece both have MS and my sister died from a type of Parkinsons. Any help or idea would be appreciated.

You need another doctor who can better treat you. A specialist like a foot doctor maybe.

I agree with tal, what you need is to see a podiatrist. Who specializes in the foot, ankle and lower extremities. Your current doctor probably doesn't have the specialized knowledge that might be needed.

I did go to a podiatrist, he stated I should drink a glass of wine at supper to get the blood flowing at night and get a home size sauna. I don't drink and a sauna is way to expensive. They test my blood flowing to my feet and it is fine.

Maybe you need to see a different one... I don't get a warm and fuzzy feeling from that one just based on what you've said.

WHat tests have they run so far? Are you a diabetic, have a heart condition, circulatory isses (not just the feet)? Etc, etc. How old are you? Different possibilities exist if you are 80 than if you are 40 for example.

We can't disgnose on AMHD but my advice is get a better doctor who can diagnose circulatory conditions in the lower extremities. Either you are not explaining your symptoms good enough or your present doctor is not interested enough.

It is not a foot doctor you need.
