My boyfriend and I had sex around march 30th, my cycles are usually every 56 days but now my period is around 20-25 days late.

About 9 days after me and my boyfriend had sex I had spotting, (TMI) but it was a brown line and it didn't even fill up half a panty liner, it lasted for 3-4 days but it changed the second day down and was a pinky colour and then it stopped then was brown again and stopped.

Around 5 days after this I felt quite a wet feeling down there and thankfully I had a towel on and I thought I got my period but it was a huge amount of white discharge.

After all this had stopped we made love again and it's been around 20-25 days late, each pregnancy test I've had said negative and all that's getting me through it is how my period hasn't came and the spotting could be implantation bleeding.

I'm desperate for a child as we've agreed that we want to wait until we have a child sorted before we go further in the relationship as we believe a child is more important than a marriage certificate.

At this point, you may want to see your GP about having a blood test done. Pregnancy is a possibility, even if it hasn't come up on a urine test yet. It all depends on when a woman ovulates, how soon implantation occurs, the sensitivity of the test that was used, if the test was used correctly, and an individual response to pregnancy.

Keep in mind, that it can often take many months before pregnancy is achieved, even with active trying. With longer cycles, you will naturally have fewer opportunities as well, and sometimes cycles are just off, for a variety of reasons, which is also a possibility.

If the result is negative, you may want to use the visit to have a preconception discussion with your doctor. Fingers crossed!
