    32 amps and 13 amp plug sockets
    I have a 32amp socket, what's the safest way to run the power? I know splitting it into to two 16's is dangerous, if run the 32amp straight into plug sockets then is it immediately only 13 amps of power,

    Any help would be great cheers

    Chris,

    You wouldn't mind helping us just a tinsy, tiny bit would you?

    For example what's the applied voltage? Where are you, U.S. or U.K. What is the socket for, lamp, computer, heating coil.

    Please state exactly what you have and what help you need.

    Sounds like you might be bloke or Aussie. Either way I like both.
    If you are from England your house wiring is normally 240 volt systems. The 32 amp plug sounds somewhat like a clothes dryer, a kitchen stove or some kind of heater.
    If such is the case, then if you are measuring current of 13 amps, it would suggest that it was a cook stove with only a portion of it turned on. Circuits are designed around protecting equipment and wiring. Example:If the device can only draw say 25 amps it still may be connected to a 32 amp plug and corresponding wire size. You are going to have to get a little more concise in your description for us to really help. If the system is 240 volt, is one of the wires 240 volt to ground or neutral or is there two wires with 120 volts to ground each and 240 volts between the two? If you have no idea what I am talking about, best leave the solution up to a local electrician. You could end up hurting yourself or someone else. Glad to help you, but not glad to hurt you.
