How can someone start their own University?
I was wondering what someone would need to do in order to begin constructing a legitimate University. Other than a lot of money of course, what would some necessities be, in terms of permits and qualification, for someone to get the permission to begin the construction of a University. I was thinking of a University like Harvard or Yale, where many of the buildings are large stone, marble, castle style buildings, would anything special need to be acquired to begin creating that kind of campus?

Okay, why do you ask? It is an unusual question given that education for these universities have been going on for at least, say, the last 150 years.

I was thinking about getting into politics after college and service in the US Navy, and it'd be a dream of mine to create a lasting memory through the education of others. So if I ever reach a point where I could fund a project like this, donors and such would most likely be needed of course. I can't find anything online about this kind of project, in terms of permits, qualifications and things of that nature. Though I know a lot of money would be needed, I'm not sure about anything else.

If you ever got to that point in your life, with that kind of power, I'm sure there would be people all around you that could guide you on how to make this happen.
