    The answer you're after: If you bubble it through limewater, it will turn cloudy. (forms a precipitate of calcium carbonate)

    The answer I would give: Shine an infra-red light through the gas, and measure the light coming out the other side with a light sensor. Check for the characteristic absorption lines in the recorded light spectrum.
