It's possible, if ovulation happened to occur, but odds are low that it would... even less likely if you are breastfeeding. It would be wise to not have sex, especially unprotected sex, for a bit longer yet. While the common recommendation is 6 weeks, more and more doctors and midwives are not holding to that exact time line. However, there is no question that becoming pregnant very soon after birth can present more risk of problems. Since you likely won't have a period for awhile, you may not be able to use that as an indicator of possible pregnant. Wait a few weeks after you had the unprotected sex and try a pregnancy test. Certainly you can ask your doctor for a test when you go back for your first postpartum visit. |
