    Outside Facuet Replacement
The plumber replaced outside faucet and cooper piping through the wall to the inside and replaced the piping and turn off valve on the inside. They joined four pieces of copper pipping together in a 10 section of pipe. Question: Is that too many in such a small space. Also, they installed a lever handle cutoff valve on the inside. I have never seen one like this. Question: Is this type as reliable as the round handle? Have never seen a lever like this?

    Thank you for your time.

Make sure that what's called a "transition union" set-up be used to attach copper piping to threaded pipe, if that's the material to be used. One-half of the union is threaded onto the old pipe while the other half is soldered onto the copper pipe. Thread the two halves together after that. One can also use this type of union to join iron pipe to plastic tubing or copper to plastic with a solvent cement.

The handle type is a ball valve. Better than a screw type in my opinion.

    Hey SpaParts,
I don' see an y indication that copper was ever connected to galvanized pipe. His post indicates a copper to copper sweat joint. Have I missed something you've picked up on? Let me know, Tom

When a hose is attached to the outside faucet and the water is turned on, water spews and runs from under the light grey plastic cap on top of the faucet.
