    Worn drain knob
I am trying to unclog my drain. The knob on my lift and pull drain stop is very worn I think. I don't want to call a plumber. I've been using pliers to try to unscrew the drain but to no avail. I need to know how I can unscrew it without calling a plumber or buying anything. I tried to use paper towels but that didn't work.

The toilet valve knob has issues. I can't turn off the water to the tank. Neither can I increase the water flow to the tank. The knob just turns without any real resistance. Should it be replaced? Also, the water level in the bowl is significantly less that what is "normal".
