    Basement flooded
My basement flooded, I used an eel sewer cleaning machine to remove the blockage. After I got the water to go out,I put the machine in reverse ,but the cable broke in the sewer,I brought a retriver ,but it is still stuck.
Is there something I can do,before I dig up the sewer to get the cable out ?

    Hi Pete

Is there any cable still sticking out of the drain pipe? If there is you can try taking a two foot wrench and try turning/pulling the cable back until it frees up...sometimes just requires a lot of torque to remove the stuck cable (depending on why it broke). If you try this, be darn careful as the torque you can create is pretty great with a big wrench like that and you will want to watch your face, OK?

    Back to you...

I'm assuming the snake is lost up in the sewer pipe. When that happens to me I attach a retrieval on my sewer machine and auger into the broken cable and pull it back, Good luck, Tom
