Need help replacing a wt and stopper for bath tub
Just replaced a new stopper for my bath tub. I tried matching the length to the old one. It won't allow me to push the handle up to stop drainage. When I adjust I have raise it much more than the old for the handle to push up but it will not hold water?

    Hi Yale

Sometimes, swapping out an old weight and linkage assembly ONLY can lead to all kinds of problems unless everything matches up EXACTLY. In most cases, the entire tub waste and overflow assembly has to be changed out for a successful outcome.

For now, I'd say that you keep trying to make it work, but I'm sorry to say there is no easy way to do this...just have to keep making adjustments until you figure it out...UGH!

If that doesn't work out you may want to do away with the linkage and stopper altogether and install a new universal TOE-TOUCH stopper and face plate...see images. This usually only involves removing the strainer and linkage /stopper assembly and swapping things over!

    Back to you...
