Will this affect the sturdiness of the structure?
Hi I am siding and adding a new front porch on and had original cable come through the siding into the house which I am burying now and I let the contractor know. Now the game of the porch is up and they didn't put the cable behind the long piece of wood that is attached to the house so they are going to just cut a small section out to run the cable down to the ground in two areas. Will this affect the sturdiness of the structure?

The ledger board is best if continuous and bolted to box beam with 3/8'' lag bolts. If cut or notched have the contractor put 2 bolts each side of cut 6'' back from edge. This should give more then enough support.
