    Change letter in first name
I was born in Puerto Rico as Noemi Rodriguez. When I came to the US and started 1st grade my name was somehow changed to Naomi. ( I guess the English version) I've always used the latter. Now I'm trying to get a birth certificate from the Dept. of Health in PR and they won't issue one because they say my name has to be legally changed to Naomi. My driver's license and my marriage certificate both have me as Naomi. How can I legally keep my name? Where do I go? Can you help me?
    Thank You
    Naomi

You have to request your birth certificate in the name it was issued, other ID should not matter, except that it is wrong, you can also go to local US court house and just change your name. Simple to do. In most court house it is the probate office, but may be other office in some states.

But they do not "issue" a birth certificate, they would merely send you a copy of your birth certificate, at this point, you should make correction to drivers license and the such, to be your legal name.

By "US court house", I assume you mean state courthouse, not federal. But this needs to be clarified: federal courts don't have change-of-name jurisdiction. It's a state matter.

Or if you wrote "US" in an effort to make the point that OP doesn't need to go back to Puerto Rico, this is true, but remember Puerto Rico Is a US jurisdiction.
