One glass of wine--how long detectable via peth test?
I had one glass of wine, and am wondering if I will pass a peth test one week after drinking. Prior to that my last drink was a glass of wine approximately two weeks prior. Thank you.

After a week you should be fine. Though why are you drinking if you're going to be tested?

Thank you. I'm getting ready to start alcohol counseling for a drinking problem I really don't have, as I've consistently had 1-2 drinks per month at most for many years (e.g. an occasional glass of wine at dinner). The counselor doing the initial assessment recommended eight weeks of treatment plus abstinence during the treatment period, after which I had a glass of wine at dinner with my girlfriend, then began sweating the possibility of testing. I won't have any trouble being abstinent during the eight weeks, though I think it's ridiculous in my particular situation. Thanks again.

If you drink as little as you say than why are you doing alcohol counselling? I ask merely for curiosity sake than anything.

I admire your resolve and hope everything turns out for the best.

"to start alcohol counseling for a drinking problem I don't have"? Then why are you getting alcohol counseling?

It's court ordered, pursuant to a suicide attempt where I used alcohol to enhance the effectiveness of pills.

Thanks. :) I attempted suicide using pills. Following instructions in the guide "Final Exit", I crushed the pills up in alcohol to enhance their effectiveness. My now-to-be ex suggested several times that I commit suicide and do so away from the house, so I tried it in the car so I could do it in a remote area away from kids. Though I hadn't moved the vehicle after beginning the attempt and there was no evidence I had, this translated into a DWI case.

Like I said, I won't have any problem abstaining. I just got worried afterward about that glass of wine even though it was before the start of treatment proper, but it didn't occur to me when I had the glass of wine with my girlfriend.

Whoa! Why are you committing suicide? I am thankful that your girl is now an ex-girl, but what the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks! Have you been seeing a counsellor or therapist for this?

Well, I'm not now. I'm much better now that I'm away from her. Yes, I'm in therapy and my therapist says that I was abused for years. It was hard to admit it, and I don't think my ex intended things to get that bad, just had an anger problem that spun out of control. Meanwhile, I am a people pleaser, exactly the wrong sort of person for her to be with. Thanks a lot for helping me here.
