    Emancipation In Minnesota
I'm 17 and have been trying to get an apartment but every manager requires me to be emancipated. My Guardian called the courthouse to get information on it and they said that they dont do emancipation in the state of Minnesota. Is this true? Is there any way I can get emancipated? help
    Thanks

That sounds weird that they are all saying you can't! I hope you find someone because I don't see why you can't! That and where your trying to rent if they are requiring you to be emancipated there has to be some way to do it! Good luck!

That link is not correct niether is that link. Minnesota statutes do not provide the grounds nor a court procedure or document for this topic. Minnesota case law states a minor may be emancipated with parental consent meaning the person who has CUSTODY must sign documents in front of a notary public stating that you may live on our own etc... BUT the only bad thing about this Minnesota statute is at any time a the consenting parent my say you must return back to their care and if they say this then you must... Here is the Minnesota department of legislature website on the issue Resources on Minnesota Issues: Legal Age in Minnesota
