    Kitchen sink won't drain
This is a double wide Mobile Home. Kitchen sink started backing up 4 days ago, no warning. I have double sinks, have tried plunging one, while wife held rags in the other. Put soda and hot vinegar down the drain, and used a 15' snake that went all the way down with no resistance. There is a clean out approximately 15' from the drain, so I tried snaking from the clean out back towards the drain. Went all the way in with no resistance? I am at my wits end, HELP!

You first removed the trap and snaked from there and then went up and snaked from the kitchen roof vent. Is that correct? Back to you, Tom

So you went 15 feet from the sink and then went 15 feet back toward the sink from the cleanout, right? If so, then you should have snaked out 15 feet PAST the cleanout away from the sink/cleanout...maybe find the blockage that way!

    Here's what I would do:

I would remove the cleanout plug and then run water up at the sink until water filled the pipe and flowed out the cleanout. Then, snake the drain while keeping water trickling in the sink...when you hit the blockage the water will start to drain and you should hear it start to flow. At that point, snake back and forth numerous times to clear the area real well as you have located the blockage and want to do a good job clearing it!

If you do not hit the blockage after 15 feet then you either need a longer snake or you went through the blockage and may need a larger snake to clear the blockage.

My mom's kitchen sink drains VERY slowly or not at all. I've snaked it, used drain cleaner, taken all the pipes I can get to apart, no clog. It does this sporadically. It will be fine for awhile, then it does it again, then will clear itself. I'm at the end of my rope. Have to drive 3 hours to get...

Hopefully this is one of those questions with an obvious answer... I have a two-side kitchen sink with a disposal on one side. The sink began to get backed up once in a while, then the other day as I was running the disposal, all the water and gunk and food backed up into the other side of the...

We have a kitchen sink w/ a divider in the middle (2 sinks). Often when I turn on the garbage disposal, food particles will come up through the drain in the other side of the sink. Today this occurred, but all the water came up as well and now neither side of the sink will drain. Any ideas? ...

After buying an old house, the kitchen sink didn't drain well, and since it wasn't hooked up to any "stink pipes" I added a Nonavent downstream of the trap, which draws air from above the trap. This worked great, but, after several months the good drainage ceased, and has become even worse than...

We live in a 70 year old house in the country. The kitchen sink often runs slow, especially after a rain. I have tried drain opener, plunging and running a hose down the pipe. The only thing that works is spraying the hose down the drain when the sink is full. When I do that it will drain, but...
