    Hot water expansion tank
    Hot water runs out and takes hours to replace, boiler and storage tank 2 years old never had prob before, never ran out. Look and saw small expansion tank could be full of water would this affect HW tank

    The expansion tank won't affect the operation of tohe water heater . However, It sounds like the bladder;s ruptured and it needs to be replaced.

    Before can give yo0u a answer I need more information. Gas or electric heater? How old? Did this happen all of a sudden? Any more details? Back to you, Tom
