    How do you work problem that are asking what is the volume of a solution needed to neutralize

    Volume in of itself is meaningless. What you need is concentration of the material in moles. For example, 1 mole of HCL will neutralize 1 mole of NaOH. You could have 1 mole of 1 substance in 100 cc H2O and the other mole in 200cc.
