    Am I really pregnant?
am 17 and I recently took 3 pregnancy tests that came out positive and say I am around 5+weeks. I had my period on the 27th of January and ended in the 30th and was suppose to start on the 27th of February and I never got my period, which I've never missed one in my life. I am now 9 days late. I was taking some antibiotics for strep and got off 2 weeks ago, but Lately I have been nauseous, my nipples are sore, and slight cramps but they don't feel like period crams, I go to the doctor Monday morning but this hasn't really hit me completely yet and I am scared to go and then say I'm not pregnant. Are they false positive or am I really pregnant?!

At 17 you should be scared to go and they say you are pregnant.

But 3 positive tests, fairly well mean you are pregnant, seldom is there a false positive.

With that said, it is too early to really have any pregnancy signs, other than a missed period.

If you followed the directions carefully on the tests, especially reading them within the time frame stated for results, then you are mostly likely pregnant. It is uncommon to have a positive result when testing correctly, and not be pregnant, although it can happen under certain circumstances. The antibiotics won't effect test results.

Some women do have symptoms very early on. They can sometimes be similar to premenstrual symptoms, but then a period never shows.

The doctor may do another urine test or they may want to confirm with a blood test. Since it is likely that you are pregnant, it would be wise to start on a prenatal vitamin and make any lifestyle changes that you know would be healthy... eating well, cutting out foods and drinks that you know are not the best, appropriate exercising, etc. IF it turns out that you aren't pregnant, it would still be wise to at least take a multivitamin with at least 400 mcg of folic acid (folate) since you are sexually active. This helps prevent certain birth defects in early pregnancy, sometimes before a woman even knows that she is pregnant.

Very rare to get a false positive. Almost impossible to get 3 in a row. So I'd say congrats, although how it's a good thing when you're only 17, I don't know. Maybe good luck is better than congrats.
