    Literary Permission
    I've translated quite a few numbers of Marquez's novels. Now I want to get permission to publish them. Can anyone help me to get the permission in this regard or let me know how and where I can det it?

    The copyright info, should be in the front of each book. You contact them and work out an arrangement or contract with them.

    Assume they will want a payment or percent of profit, or both.
    Plus of course you needed to have gotten permission before doing all the work, since they may just refuse to give permission also.

    If this is the Marquez you refer to: Gabriel García Márquez - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia then he is still alive and probably still owns the copyrights. You would have to contact his publisher for permission to publish translations. And I doubt you will get it. Sounds like you may have done a lot of work for nothing.

    I guess, I would like to follow up, with exactly how much have you translated ? The author and publisher will have to approve it. I agree, it is doubtful you will get at most a fee for translation, but most likely a letter saying you can not use it. And any reproduction is a violation.

    Sorry, but yes, you needed to get approval, before you even started the translation
