    Thermostat troubleshooting
    Programmable thermostat does not work, characters show as partials. REPLACED batteries. What does voltages control? Have both battery and 24 volt?

    If characters showing are only partials after replacing the batteries... its time to visit your home improvement store to buy a new one. Its broke.

    I would agree. Sometimes even a static shock from your hand can toast a stat for good
