Hi! I'm hoping someone will be able to provide me with some more details or information regaridng a problem that I'm having. Within the past month or so my bathroom sink started to drain slowly (sometimes gurgling from the kitchen sink or toilet). Then several weeks later, my toilet started flushing slowly. It never backs up, just flushes without any power. My tub/shower, kitchen sink, washer, etc all drain perfectly fine. I live in a 1946 home and I have a septic tank. I called a plumber and he told me (over the phone based on my description) that it sounds like a septic issue and I need to have my septic pumped. I then called the septic company who agreed based on my description and pump my tank. The drain and the toilet worked perfectly for the two days following and the exact symptoms returned. I contacted the septic company back and they said my drain field was saturated and I just needed to give it time to dry out. I am fine with this IF this is truly the problem, but I have a feeling it is something else. I really don't know a lot about how septic systems work but a couple of things that make me leary about this diagnosis:

1. Shouldn't it affect ALL drains in my house if the drain field is saturated?
2. I have a 750 gallon septic tank. Did it really COMPLETELY fill up in two days? I am single and live alone in my house.
3. I've lived in my house for 8 years and have NEVER had a drain field issue. Obviously there is a first time for everything, but it seems strange.

Likely an obstruction in the bathroom drain line that may be opened with a snake.
