    Is he worth it?
I have kind of been seeing this guy. He's really lovely and we've been on a few dates. One problem though, he's been charged with statutory rape and he is on bail conditions and the case still hasn't been settled.
He says he didn't know how old she was and I fully believe that.
Should I allow for the possibility of a relationship with him?

I wouldn't. See how the trial goes. How old is he?

I would have to say you should back off. There should be more to this story and you probably don't want to hear it and should not want to hear it from him.

Didn't know or didn't want to know? Many people will say only enough to make themselves look good and gloss over the part that doesn't. I am guessing you really haven't known him long enough to know how truthful and honest he is being with you. Plus he would be a fool to tell you he knew and had sex with her anyway. It could be damaging to his defense.

I suggest waiting for the outcome of his legal troubles. He may be a great guy who made a mistake. However, there is a chance facts that will come out at trial may prove the opposite.

Get to know him better as a friend if you want to, but don't look for a romantic relationship until his future is a bit more settled.

I'm with everyone... wait until after the trial... people lie... all the time... do you think he would honestly admit to it with a trial upcoming? I don't. Anyone with half a brain would keep quiet until after the trial. He knows if you are involved they could call you to testify if they thought he confided in you.

We don't know him, of course, but this decision is entirely up to you. Rape is rape no matter how old he is. A 19 year old can make a mature decision to have sex as well as a 30 year old. All depends where his mind is at the time.
