Threatening to be sued even though equifax has deleted from my file
Hi to make a long story short is it possible for an "attorney's office"/collecting a debt to continue to purse suing me if I called Equifax to investigate the accounts and they have come back as "fraud" and have been deleted from my credit file? This office claims that Equifax is a separate entity and has nothing to do with them! Please help

Equifax is not a legal authority, merely a reporting company.

What they found or believe has no bearing in court ( you may want the evidence they have) So of course this company can sue you if they want to, no matter what Equifax says. And a debt being on or not being on your credit report has nothing to do with a right to sue for it, the majority of small claims court debts are never on any reporting system.

If they sue you will need to have evidence in court to prove the fraud.
