    I keep crying.
I'm a 16 year old crying and when I'm just laying down I start to cry, then I start to think about things, and then I cry even more. And then I feel sick with myself.
    What do I do?

You give yourself a shake and get out of that mood. Hormones are jumping all over the place. Don't think about things you can't control; focus on your school work, or social activity, making friends and meeting people so you can grow up to be a functional adult.

I cried a lot at your age. I was miserable, but couldn't really explain it. Can you?

Ah, the joys of being a teen. You're not a child anymore, but you're not an adult, school is getting serious, so many decisions to make, so many things to think about, and to top it all off, your hormones are raging through your body.

I remember when I was your age, there was this commercial on TV. It was about sending flowers overseas. It was a sappy commercial, but not anything worth crying over. For some reason though, I cried buckets, for hours. I couldn't stop crying. My parents thought something was wrong and all I could say was "that commercial. I don't know why!".

Bursting into tears for no reason at your age, is pretty normal. This too shall pass.

Being a teenager is tough! Why anyone says these are our happiest years is beyond me. I was cute and popular in high school and really really miserable. If your depression appears to be out of hand... get some help... immediately. There are free counselors available who will keep your conversations confidential. If it is not out of hand, try to stay busy. Trust me, the majority of us outgrow it... Just don't let it become a lifestyle!

Talk to a trusted adult about it. Can you talk to your parents? Your mom? What's going on in your life?
