    Intertherm Furnace Troubleshooting
Sometimes when my oil furnace cuts in, there is a clanging, rattling noise. So I have to turn it off with the emergency switch. When I do this, there is a strong oil smell. Would you be able to tell me what the problem could be? Thank You.

Any type of oil furnace needs to be serviced every year. Electrodes and nozzle needs to be clean and serviced. Should contact someone that has this type of experience. Sounds to me like there is a lack of fire , due to out of adjustment of the parts that I have listed that need service. Hopefully this will help you some.
