I am installing a sump pump, I'm pretty sure I have everything worked out except for where to route my water from the pump. Near where the outlet from the pump will exit my house I have a pool pump/filter with 1-1/2" pvc that wraps around my home to the driveway where the pools water drains into the street. I would like to utilize that same pipe for the sump pump as well but am concerned that when I do backwash or drain the pool that pool water will go back up towards the sump pump. Could I utilize a check valve on the sumps line right before the tee where it meets with the pools existing drain pipe, or will I need to replace or add another pipe to the driveway?

Sounds like a plan to me. Or you could put check valve in sump pump line a few feet above pump.

You should always use a check valve on a sump pump, otherwise it will try and siphon back. I would install it close to the pump.

If you are installing a sump pump, install the check valve between 4-6 feet off the floor (reduces banging of the internal check valve flapper). Also, read your sump pump instructions real well as the majority of these require a small hole (3/16") to be drilled at a downward angle (6 inches above where piping attaches to the pump) to prevent "air lock" of the discharge piping. This can increase the life of the sump pump and prevents the pump from DRY CYCLING!!
