    Carrier furnace
    Carrier model 58 pav flashing red light does not flash. Has 110 ac to furnace.reset black switch behind door and still no red light code.

    I'm not sure if that light is 120 or 24 volts. Look for a small automotive type fuse (probably 3 or 5 amp). Remove the fuse & inspect to see if it is blown. If so, replace with a new fuse & try again. If the fuse is good, the board is probably bad.

I am looking at furnace for a friend. The furnace will come on with that small fan and the pilot will light. However, the burner will not catch. This unit has a igniter I suspect that the igniter is bad. Is there any way to test it?
