I am the mom of 2 children. The first day of my last period was December 29th. I didn't have a period at all in January. I haven't had my regular birth control since October. I had periods for the months of October, November, and December.

My husband and I have been careful because of myself not being on birth control. We aren't trying to have a baby. I can't get my birth control prescription refilled until I see my OB/GYN for my annual appt.

I currently am taking blood pressure medicine, thryroid medicine, fish oil & red yeast rice pills for cholesterol and Melatonin to help sleep at night.

I did a pregnancy test on Saturday. It was negative, but after 1 hr. later it showed positive. I have done three more tests since then and they have been negative.

My biggest concern is that I take all these medicine, daily, and if I am pregnant could harm a baby.

Are you taking your tests right after you wake up... the first time you pee that morning? You could also have your doctor do a blood test. They are much more sensitive and reliable.

As far as being careful... thats really a poor form of birth control. Condoms are roughly 80% effective... being careful is far lower than that as sperm exist in the other early fuids.

As well when you do a pregnancy test there are two areas, the test area and the control area. The control area is already seeded with the hormone that the test is looking for. The test area has the indicator and it is up to you to provide the hormone, if you're pregnant, or not, if you aren't. The problem is that you're peeing on it. So that will dissolve any excess hormone in the control area and if you leave it too long it will leech into the test area giving a false positive. Read and follow the instructions.

You can not look at it a hour later, that is why you throw it away after the period it says to look.

First are you at least 14 days late ? I would assume so, and as noted, take the test first thing in the morning.. if Neg, take a test once a week, till you are late for the next month. Then see your doctor.

Also, how were you being safe ? No sex ? Any sex, even with birth control, can result in pregnancy, no form of birth control is 100 percent.

Most of the things you are taking is supplements and you can easily look up the side effects. Go and talk to your pharmacist about issues with prescription medication, there are many for those issues.

When I stated that we are being safe, I meant we are together, but my husband withdrawals before he ejaculates. He hasn't ejaculated inside of me.

By my calculations, since my last period started on December 29th and ended by January 2, I should have started my period on January 29th and haven't.

Withdrawl is not considered a form of birth control because is is so ineffective.

He doesn't have to ejaculate to make you pregnant... and lots of women get pregnant every day like that. He literally leaks sperm all the time.

Use the leaky garden hose analagy... you don't have to turn the nozzle all the way on to get wet when its leaking water all the time.

I can understand waiting for the pills, condoms are far better than nothing at all... but at this point that's putting the cart before the horse.

Maybe I'm just a sensitive person, but for someone who is looking for an answer to their question, some of these answers are not very emphatic. I don't want to be judged because of what I may or may not have done to prevent pregnancy. I am just looking for an answer to my question of whether I might be pregnant. I'm 41 years old and completely understand that my husband withdrawing before he ejaculates doesn't prevent pregnancy. Remember I've had two children before. Granted we were planning these pregnancies! My husband doesn't believe in using condoms because of his religion that's why I've been taking birth control. I feel as if you all think I'm stupid or something, which I'm not. I just want an answer as to whether I need to be concerned or not, about being pregnant! That's all!!

And who are you in relation to this? If this is the same person with a different account then we're giving facts. If you want sympathy, not the right place. We empathize with your situation but given what little information we get and have gotten we have to make assumptions and the assumptions we made are more the norm then not. You wouldn't believe what is and isn't being taught by parents and schools.

Birth control is all about mitigating the risk of becoming pregnant. There is the effective, taking out one's sexual organs, to the ineffetive, I PRAY to GORD that I won't become pregnant. Everything falls within that range. Except for Gord, he's a bit of a tool. That's a joke. Regardless withdrawing before he ejaculates just lessens the chances of becoming pregnant and not by much. It is more effective if you know when you're ovulating and avoid that time. There is condoms which help as well as hormonal birth controls. There are birth controls that are implanted and ones that are injections. All these have different chances of preventing pregnancy. There is only two 100% methods, Sterilization and Abstinence.

There is sperm in the pre-ejaculate. If that gets into you, i.e. he withdrawals, than there is a chance that you will become pregnant. The chance is smaller then if he were to ejaculate fully in you but not by much.

You should be concerned about being pregnant. Anytime he puts his penis in your vagina without a method of birth control, regardless of whether he ejaculates in you, there is a possibility of becoming pregnant.

So you only want to know if you could be pregnant. The answer is yes, you could. Anytime penis enters vagina, even if 2 or more forms of birth control are used, pregnancy is possible. That's really all anyone can tell you.

Sadly the world has not yet found a way to detect pregnancy online, therefore we cannot tell you if you are in fact pregnant. That's something you will have to determine with an at home pregnancy test using your urine, a blood test at your doctors office, an ultrasound during later pregnancy, or giving birth.
