I am 27 weeks and 5 days pregnant with my second baby and baby has dropped. How long till labour? I am getting lower cramping like period pain. My daughter was only 6 months old when I found out I was pregnant and apparently that can increase your chances of having a pre-term birth. My first was born at 36 weeks went into labour at 29 weeks but was stopped.

It is hard to say. The best plan is to monitor this with your doctor/ob/midwife. A baby, if I recall correctly, can drop months before you're due. Some of it might just be the uterus placement. The other thing to note is that with your first pregnancy everything was tight and stretching and held in place by the tension of all your muscles and ligaments. Your body has tightened up since your birth but a lot of the stretched ligaments and muscles are still lose so things are going to be a little different and a little more relaxed. So what you might think is it dropping is actually it is above your pelvis and is getting comfy.
