    Bacterial Vaginosis
I was currently diagnosed with BV and I'm using a metrogel cream vaginal. Tonight will be my 3rd night using and I've noticed a thick white discharge. It doesn't have an odor and I'm not burning just itching a lot. I need to know if this is normal. Should I complete the medication, is there a yeast infection forming? I'm lost and really don't have the money to go back to a urgent care center. Thank you

Finish your medication. This is probably a combination of the cream and your natural discharge. If you still have this once you're done your medication then try a yeast infection treatment. The important thing is to continue the course of antibiotics that have been prescribed and then judge your condition after that.

I think your best bet is a follow up to the physician who prescribed your medications but understand the extra expense concerns. Maybe something can be negotiated since it's a follow up. I would call to be sure.

Ok thanks for the responses, tonight will be night 4 then Thursday will be 5, I do have about 6 diflucan pills left from a previous prescription so maybe I'll try taking one of those a day for 3 days and see if it helps with the itching and discharge.. . I didn't realize that the gel was considered a antibiotic so maybe it is a yeasts infection coming.. . thanks again.

Bacterial Vaginosis roughly translates to a bacterial infection in your Vagina. An antibiotic is the only way to treat that. Yeast is a fungus, the antibiotic will have no effect on it. Wait until your antibiotic course is done before doing anything.

From Drugs.com (and what should be on the information insert for the cream): Metrogel-Vaginal Advanced Patient Information - Drugs.com
    Metrogel-Vaginal Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:
    More common
    • Itching in the vagina
    • pain during sexual intercourse
    • thick, white vaginal discharge with no odor or with a mild odor
Note that it says "may need" medical attention. So, it looks like according to the directions you should contact a doctor.
