    Hi Any TaxExpert,

    Here are the facts:

Entered US: Aug 2001 on F1
    Graduated: Dec 2005
(small lull between graduating and OPT start-date)
OPT: Late Jan 2006 - Late Nov 2006
    H1B: Late Nov 2006 - 31 Dec 2006

    Questions:

    1) Resident or non for tax purposes? 1040-EZ or 1040NR-EZ?
    2) What kind of deduction am I entitled to? (no special country agreements)

The more I read up on it, the more confused I am.

    Thanks!

    You are a resident in 2006. File a 1040 or 1040-EZ.

If you are in a state with an income tax, file a tax return.

Get onto it soon because the tax deadline is rapidly approaching.
