My plumbing contractor wants to jog the toilet drains from the second floor around a kitchen island and into a wall rather than create a fake post with a pipe in it next to the island. Does this look reasonable? It seems kind of serpentine to me but he said with clean outs it should work just fine. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

Oh the 1/4 bend elbow just below the double fixture fitting is actually turned 90 degrees into the page. I just can't draw in 3d very well.

That would be my preference as opposed to a column in kitchen.

Agreed...see no problem as presented.

If possible, I would add a TEST TEE (or dandy) cleanout to the pipe where the drain is readily accessible...allows clearing of the drain in both directions of the drain.

I also like long sweep 90s in place of the short pattern 90s, but if there is no room to fit the long sweeps, the short pattern 90s should be fine.

Also, hard to tell from here, but why the jog around the island? It's not like the plumber is actually going around the island, so why not a straight shot through?

Yes they are directly above the island. When the home was built some 100 years ago they did not run the wet wall all the way from the basement to the roof. The bath on second floor is centered on the wet wall. The third floor wall is aligned with the first floor and basement wall. Likewise they are load bearing walls. It's a mess really but I will make sure it gets straightened out by the end.
