When I download the Java Development Kit version 7u51, my programs seem to target that download rather than the original Java files on my computer. As a result, the programs return this message, "Could not create the Java virtual machine." I then uninstalled JDK 7u51, but now I can't use the program I need for an online class that I am taking. Can anyone help me?

Are you doing java development (i.e. writing java programs), or just need java to do something else? 99% of people would need the Java Runtime Environment and not the Java Development Kit. Go to www.java.com and click the big "Free Java Download" button and you should get what you need.

I'm using the BlueJ program and I need the Java Development Kit, but I only want the BlueJ program to use it. However, the JDK interferes with all of my other programs, such as games like Minecraft and League of Legends. I haven't checked all of my programs, but I feel as though they might be affected also.
