    Implantation or Withdrawal Bleeding
It's been 3 months since her last period. My friend is on loseasonique. She admitted to being somewhat inconsistent with her habits of taking her pills, but like only missing it once or twice here and there. Recently had sex and then next day after sex she skipped (forgot) 4 days of her pills. Then she began bleeding for 4 to 5 days and said it was normal of her to have her "periods" like that. So just wanted to ask could it be implantation bleeding or withdrawal bleeding from the lack of taking her pills. Thankyouu

loseasonique seems to fall under the category as 'typical hormonal' birth control pill. Which is to say that it convinces that body that it doesn't need to ovulate. To achieve this effect the user needs to make sure that they take the pill at the same time every day. You need to have a consistent level of the hormone in your system for it to be effective. When your doctor says that you need to use a secondary form of birth control for the first month, they are ensuring that your system has the proper levels before you have unprotected sex. There is still a chance, while starting the pill, that you could ovulate. This goes as well when you miss a significant number of pills during a month. The hormone balance has been disturbed and there is a probability that you could ovulate. If you ovulate and have sex, then you could get pregnant.

For your friends this means that there could be a reasonable chance that she's pregnant. I had this happen to a friend of mine. She forgot her pills for about 4 weeks and thought she was still protected. Her young daughter is very cute. So she should take an over the counter home pregnancy test. She might also want to talk to her doctor about other forms of birth control depending on her life plan. For example the Depo shot, Nuva ring, the patch, The implant, IUD, and others that only require her to deal with it on a monthly basis instead of a daily basis. This will be better if she's inconsistent with her drugs.

We can't say what the bleeding is. There is a decent chance she's pregnant. Especially if she' not had a period in months.
