    Toilet backing up
I recently purchased a house and now I am having problems with the plumbing. It first started with the toilet getting clogged but then it seemed to be fine after plunging it. Now the toilet has backed up in the tub and neither one will go down. A plumber suggested using drano but the problem is still persistent. Is there something I can do on my own to remedy this even if it's only temporary?

Hopefully it is just a blocked line. You can rent a power auger or have a plumber check it out. Could be a broken line underground or a simple clog.
