File left in tooth by Endodonist.
    Hello,
This X-ray is 6 weeks after a Root canal on my #3 molar by an endodontist. This has now been almost 7 months ago. My general/restorative dentist wanted to wait to make sure the root canal was successful before crowning the tooth. Does this look like I should have the file removed? Does it look like it is protruding in my sinus cavity? Please is this tooth worth saving/crowning?

    Thanks!

Sorry your attachment was no longer accessible, but endos doing root canals do not use files. They use color coded finely twisted wire to clean out the root along with gutta purcha which is a resin.

Who told you there is a 'file' left in your tooth?

I have reattached the photo. My general dentist told me that there is a file. Can you see it in the X-ray? The endodontist didn't mention it at all. Now I don't know who to believe. :(

Also, here is the X-ray right before the root canal. There is nothing that appears to be protruding into the sinus cavity in this X-ray.

The message I get when trying to view your attachment is "no longer available".

Now, If there were a file protruding into your sinus cavity (as I said, files are not used) do you not think you would be in pain?

If you feel there is something there, then go back to the endodontist. This is not a matter of not knowing who to believe. We,can't do this for you.
