    Ex won't vacate my home
I purchased a home a few months ago and I'm the only person on the deed. My ex won't leave and I'm not sure what to do. He put the utilities in his name before moving in. We have no written agreement stating who pays what. I've had to recently call cops on him for physical abuse and damaging property inside the house. How do I get him out. I have never been in this situation before.

First, its not a good idea to piggyback your question on another thread. To avoid confusion I've moved your question to its own thread.

So when you moved in, you allowed your ex to move in with you? What is going on with the charges for physical abuse and property damage? Have you asked the court for a restraining order against him? That would be the quickest way to keep him out.

Otherwise you have to evict him according to local law (Any question on law needs your general locale as laws vary by area). This usually involves giving him a 30 day written notice to vacate. If he fails to vacate by the deadline, you will need to go to court for an eviction order.

I have not asked for a restraining order just yet. Wasn't sure if I should! As far as the charges, I dropped them because in this state (SC) we would both end up going to jail even though I was defending myself. One other issue is his grandma lives with us who is 89 and has Alzheimer's. Do I need to send written notices to both of them?

If you want both of them out, then yes.

Certified is better, but hand delivered is fine, if you can prove delivery.
