I would like to know how often do young dogs of about 5 to 6 months go poop on a regular diet

I am not sure, maybe about a couple of times. By that age usually my puppies are allowed the privacy of the fenced yard by themselves. There are times when they are are on leash all day mostly inside. A year ago, when we were out of town, our Nita spent a whole week on leash except when loose in the hotel room. Even after cutting back to one meal a day at 6 months, they still seem to have a couple bowel movements a day. Labs may have more than Shepherds.

I am not sure they are very good at holding it at that age. I have found that if I walk them around some before going in somewhere, I have fewer problems inside. I always have clean up material. Clean up is easier if you are feeding a concentrated, meat based chow. Slip a plastic bag over your hand, pick up the stools, and turn the bag inside out. You may need to finish up with a paper towel. I use the bags my newspaper comes in on rainy days. Many people use bread wrappers.

I think it would be confusing to allow somebody new to reuse a name. I would want to see at least a year before dropping a user name.

Hey Nouser-the better the doog food, the less they poop. If you like the less poop idea, invest in high quality food your vet recommends.

The concentrated chows aren't that much better for the dog, just easier for the owner to clean up. As far as I know, all the service dog schools recommend them. If you are going to take a dog everywhere you go, you have to clean up after them even if you are visually impaired or in a wheel chair.

The 2 Labs that one day each gifted me with 3 bowel movements to clean up, were eating Pro Plan.
