    Christmas lights not working
    I have 9 sets of Xmas lights tied to one power source some led some reg! My question Is why does the first 40' work the next 60' don't and the final 60' does! Really bummed spent 7hrs on this and now my house looks stupid

    Sounds like some bulbs are burned out in the strings that don't work.

    In a series connections if current is flowing from first to last you can find all the bulbs glowing but, if there is any breakage in the series the rest of the series will not work. But in your case there are chances that bulbs got fused and left inside so electricity is flowing through them that is why you find the rest of the lights working.

    Most Christmas lights have a shorting bar so if a bulb burns out the ret of the string still works.

    However, if the glass envelope of the bulb breaks, it can shut the string down. Look for any broken bulbs and replace them.

    Also, most stores, Lowe's, Home Depot and even Walmart carry bulb testers that fine.
