    Electrical outlet question
How difficult would it be to convert an electrical outlet that has a switch on top and only the bottom is the outlet.
I want to convert it into two outlets. (removing the switch on top)
Should this be done by an electrician or can a lay person do it.
    Thank You.

Changing out the outlet is simple. The question is what does the switch do. Presumably it turns something on and off. What do you want to do without it?

Install an old work duplex box, switch on 1 side, outlet on other.
