    First OB appointment question
    I found out last week I am pregnant an we estimate right now I am between 3-4 weeks since conception. I have also read online that an OB usually used the first day of your last period to base how long you've been pregnant. My GYN doesn't do the OB side there so I had to search for an OB and when I scheduled an appointment they scheduled me for Dec. 31rst so that when I went to see them I would be about 8 weeks along since conception. The lady who made the appointment didn't sound all too sure of herself. Does this sound right to you or should I be going in sooner than that? We'd love to be able to tell our families for x-mas but I'm afraid to do that until I see an OB because I know they say you should wait.

    Spontaneous terminations happen a lot in the first trimester. Most people wait until they've finished month three to tell people because it is really hard to tell people that are so excited that you've miscarried.

    That is about right for an OB date. Just make sure to, beforehand, start your pregnancy vitamins and start refraining from drugs, alcohol, and smokes if you can.
