Good morning from sunny Ca.

I have a outdoor pond and need to run electricity to the pump.
I have a GFI outlet on the garage side that is about 50 feet from the pond.
Do they make extension cords that would work even when the sprinklers are on?
I thought about using the direct burial romex and see if I can make a cord out of that. I meybe looking to hard for a easy answer.

Not really sure what your question is, your looking for a 50 foot extension cord? What does a sprinkler running have to do with a cord?

If you make a cord out of cable, the ends will not be waterproof.

Your GFI outlet should have a cover that allows you to have a cord plugged in while its raining outside. About $10 for 1 gang cover. 16 /1 or some such name that refers to the different plate options. Home Depot likes to hang them on a post in the middle of the circuit breaker aisle or on the post next to the extension cords.

Get an outdoor rated cord.

Is this a temporary installation? What size is your pump and is a 120 volt or can it also be a 230 volt. Is it thermally protected or does it require overload protection? Will your extension cord cause a problem and can it get ran over by the lawn mower? I would consider using direct burial UF cable running directly from a GFI circuit breaker in your main electrical panel if possible.
