    I have a 13.5 b&s riding mower that won't start.
    Started and ran at hign rpm. Now can not start Used fresh gas. Have spark and fuel going to plug.

    Hi,
    It is likely that it started with the throttle shaft gummed and stuck. Probably resulted in a sheared flywheel key.

My John Deere riding mower won't start. I replaced the battery and it started. I turned off the tractor and tried to start again and it failed. How can one tell if the problem is the starter or the solenoid? :)
