I am twelve and I do gymnastics three times a week... in a bright white leotard!
My family is quite poor and can't afford to buy me a darker coloured leotard but I am so worried I might get my period in it. My mom always searches my gym bag and would notice if I stuffed a pad in it. What should I do!! How can I tell if my period id going to come!

Hi Alesha - you can't predict when it will start. I'm not sure why it's 'bad' that your mother will know? She got her period, probably around 12. That's a common age, although it varies a lot. Have you asked her for advice about things like different kinds and sizes of pads, or even tampons? Maybe you could go to the store together to shop. She will let you keep a pad in your bag, I'm sure.
As for your leotard, IF by chance your period starts while you are in it, just change your clothes, stuff some paper towels or toilet paper in your panties, and when you get home, put it in a sink of cold water. The blood washes out, especially of synthetics.
