Can a hospital report me to the nursing board
I am a can in Florida. I made the very stupid decision to let a friend inject morphine into me yesterday after I vented about some personal problems. My friend missed getting some of it into my arm and I'm afraid it could be infected. Now since I am a can, if I go to the hospital for treatment can they report me to the nursing board or the hospital that I work for?

So you used illegal drugs, (I assume your friend was not authorized to inject you ?)

It went wrong, and you are worried. Yes it is possible they could report you, but you also need to get it checked.

Do you mean CNA? They may or may not report it to a licensing board but it will be on your record. They also may or may not report it to police. My honest opinion is that you should find a new line of work.

First, you need to be seen for your health's sake. You should pay the bill out of pocket and not mention any insurance or the name of your employer, so go to a walk in clinic, not an ER. Your employer will find out otherwise. I highly doubt that the clinic will call the police.
