    Bench warrant
My fiancé got a ticket for speeding in a construction zone and it is 315 dollars we are living in a different state now and I cannot pay it and neither can he. I do not want him taken back to the other state so what can he do in this state to take care of it? Without having to leave because they will issue a bench warrant.

    Hello k:

A bench warrant won't be issued because of a traffic violation. What can he do????? Pay it. There's NOTHING else to do. If he DOESN'T pay, he's liable to lose his license.

To answer your question no he won't have to go back to the state where he got the ticket yes a warrant will be issued. They won't come looking for him for that. The only problem with a driving offense warrant is he will not be able to get his driver license in another state. No they won't extradite him for that if that's what your asking it's to expensive to extradite. Depending on the state your offense is in will the bench warrant go away? Most states do not have a statute of limitations some do. Will the warrant ever go away probably not. Another option would be to contact the county where the driving warrant is in and see if you can pay it when you can. But sometimes in some places they just say don't go back to the state the offense occurred in and you will be fine. You can drive him around is another option if you don't want to risk it. If you got your driver license. Oh yeah and don't let him get in anymore trouble.

To add more: Just call the county where the warrant is in since it is just a driving ticket and most of the time yeah you can just pay it and they will drop it same thing happened to my bro. He just paid the fine when he could and then it went away. He had a bench warrant and just paid when he could. After the ticket was paid for they dropped it. Hope this helps
