    My 10yr old Chihuahua has muscle spasms
    My 10yr old Chihuahua has muscle spams and she holds her left front leg up and yelps if you try to pick her up but then after 10 or 20 minutes she seems OK do you know what it could be

    At her age, it could be anything. Best thing to do would be to take her to the vet for a once-over.

    I agree with wondergirl, she could have a dislocating knee cap which the small breeds are noted for to other orthopedic problems.

    Her back probably is hurting her! Sometimes when an injury occurs in the cervical vertebra it can affect the front limbs. They can be overly painful and/or paralyzed.

    This is something that should not be ignored. She needs pain medications pronto.. she is in a lot of pain! Not to mention leaving this disease untreated will only lead to progression.
