Tramadol and urine test
I took 2 100 mgs of tramadol that someone at work gave me for pain I was having in my knee. I never took these before . I usually use ibuprofen. So I took the pills on a Sunday evening. My knee was hurting bad and I had to report it at work so standard procedure means I have to take a drug urine test. I did that Tuesday night. 2 days later. Will this make me test dirty? I don't have a prescription and didn't even know what tramadol was. I thought the guy just gave me over the counter stuff. It was a 10 panel test and I'm worried it might be negative.. it is now Saturday and I've heard nothing however I am in a wellness program for my knee. If it came out dirty will they wait until I go back to work or fire me on the spot?

You most likely will come back dirty for opiates. Will they fire you on the spot? We don't know the answer to that question, we are not affiliated with your company or it's policies.

How long does it take to get out of my system? I read that they have to do a special type of test to test for tramadol. Can I get a prescription after my drug test to cover for that if it did come out dirty?

Get a prescription after the fact? No. A doctor won't risk his license to do that.

Where do you get your information?

How does that relate to drug test lab knowledge

Because I frequently send urine to the lab for drug tests and have to read the tests back to the doctor. After so many years of experience in this area, I am quite competent.

One thing you failed to mention was whether this 200mg of Tramadol (Ultram) was extended release.

I don't see why you are taking offense to my responses. You asked a question and as a medical professional I responded in like. I'm sorry you are in this position. I wish I had better news for you.
