    Water Utility Company Security Deposits
I live in Georgia, and just recently decided to move into a rental home. I was in the process of getting the water service turned on in my name but was hit with a $500 security deposit to do so. My prior water provider's deposit was only $95, the power deposit was $150, gas $80, I'm trying to figure out why the water utility deposit is $500, is that legal, especially for a City Water Authority to request that much up front? Is this legal and is there a cap on how much they can charge a residential customer in Union City, Ga?
